As you register for infertility assessment for the first time, your complete history will be retrieved. Your medical history, surgical history, coital history and menstrual history will be recorded. The evaluation will be done on three parameters. These parameters include ovulation, tubal status and uterine cavity. The ovulation will be done through transvaginal sonography. It will be started from the 11th day of the menstrual cycle. The growth and rupture of eggs (follicle) will be checked. The doctor will advise timed intercourse based on the day of ovulation. In order to induce ovulation, medication will also be offered as per the case. Medications are done to count antral follicles. The ovarian reserve will be assessed. This is a very important assessment. The women’s remaining egg supply will be found through this process. Blood testing and ultrasound will be done to assess ovarian reserve. Through blood test, day 3 FSH and LH will be found. Estradiol hormone testing and AMH hormone levels are also assessed with blood samples. The assessment of ovarian volume and antral follicle counts will be done with ultrasound testing.

The tubal status will be checked by HSG (hysterosalpingography) or Laparoscopy with Hysteroscopy. In some cases, sonosalpingography will be performed.

The uterine will be evaluated through by transvaginal ultrasound. The growth of endometrial lining will be checked. The abnormalities that are associated with fibroids or polyps will be ruled out in this process. In order to rectify the issue, hysteroscopy will be done as per the requirement.

About 10% to 15% of couples suffer from infertility even though there are no specific reasons. In these cases, alternate channels will be implemented based on the interests of couples. Based on the situation of individuals, various kinds of tests will be suggested for male or female.
